East London Rape Crisis Volunteer – nia project – 28th December 2011
East London Rape Crisis Service provides a range of support services to women affected by sexual violence; including an information and referral line, counselling, advocacy and group work.
We are currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers to become part of our team.
East London Rape Crisis Service volunteers work on our information and referral telephone line, providing emotional and practical support to survivors of sexual violence, their friends, family and other professionals.
You will get:
* The opportunity to provide invaluable support to survivors of sexual violence from within a feminist framework
* The opportunity to work within a leading, London based violence against women organisation
* Full supervision & support, including clinical supervision
* Internal training on sexual violence, safeguarding, helpline support, organisational systems and policies
* Access to other volunteer and employment opportunities across the organisation, as appropriate
* A professional reference against the pre-defined Profile of Volunteer Responsibilities that can be used for future employment.
Volunteers must:
* Have an interest in, and understanding of, the issues relating to sexual violence and violence against women and girls
* Be available for interview on 4th or 5th of January and for training on 12th, 13th and 21st January 2012
* Be able to commit to volunteering at least 3 hours a week for a minimum of 3 months

Salary : Expenses
The post is subject to an enhanced CRB check and open to women only (exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1).
