Women in Film and Television Feminar – LFN ~17th March 2012
London Feminist Network is pleased to announce its next feminar on Saturday 17th March: Women in Film and Television.
The feminar takes place during Women’s History Month and will focus on the (in)visibility of women in these media.
SPEAKERS:
Dr Melanie Williams and Dr Eylem Atakav, Dept of Film and Television Studies, University of East Anglia
Melanie will talk about women filmmakers in British cinema in an attempt to making invisible women visible and re-writing women’s film history. Eylem will be talking about women in television adverts in Turkey, referring to gender politics, Islam and politics.

Swiss Cottage Community Centre 19 Winchester Rd London NW3 3NR
(3 mins from Swiss Cottage Underground station, Jubilee Line – two stops North of Baker Street)
We kindly ask for donations towards venue hire, £2-£5 or whatever you can afford. There will be light refreshments. The venue is wheelchair-accessible.
