The Women's Budget Group Summer Reception

6pm-8pm on Tuesday 8th July 2003
Mary Sumner House, 24 Tufton Street, London SW1P 3RB
With guest speaker Paymaster General Dawn Primarolo MP - HM Treasury
Sponsored by Oxfam

We would be delighted if you could join us for our first summer reception to celebrate a busy and productive year for the Women's Budget Group (WBG).

WBG is an independent UK organisation which brings together over 100 of the countries’ foremost experts in gender and economic policy from across NGOs, the trades unions and academia.  The WBG has gained extensive consultative access to both policy-makers and ministers, especially within HM Treasury.

We are particularly excited to announce that, as a result of WBG lobbying, HM Treasury and the Women and Equality Unit have launched a pilot project to investigate gender and government spending.  Such initiatives have taken place in over 40 countries around the world but this is the first of its kind in the UK.  Come along to hear more from Paymaster General Dawn Primarolo MP.

Please join us to celebrate our successes, to find out more about how economic policy can be better designed to address gender inequalities and to share your views and thoughts with us.

RSVP to Kate Bellamy at kate@fawcettsociety.org.uk or tel.  020 7253 2598 ext.  203.
