Claiming our Story: Celebrating My Favourite Black Woman
Cinnamon Club (The Old Westminster Library), Great Smith Street, London SW1P 3BU between 6:30pm and 10:00pm on Friday 2nd May 2003. This is an evening celebration where high profile personalities will pay tribute to the outstanding contribution of black women who have had an influence in history. "Claiming our Story: Celebrating My Favourite Black Woman" is dedicated to these "adventurers" in history and those women whose insights have helped us to better understand the business and professional world; because their horizons were shaped by their spirit, imagination and skill. The tributes will showcase how these women were determined to succeed regardless of the barriers that they faced and in spite of early or apparent failure. This high profile event will be hosted by the Patrons of the National Black Women's Network Baroness Ros Howells of St David, OBE and BBC London Entertainment Correspondent and Journalist, Brenda Emmanus. We are delighted to have paying tribute on the night, news presenter Pam Joseph (Choice FM); radio and tv presenter Angie Greaves presenter; outstanding business woman Pinky Lilani, who is also the founder of the Asian Women of Achievement Awards and BBC "London Drive Time" presenter Henry Bonsu. "Claiming our Story: Celebrating My Favourite Black Woman" is a wonderful opportunity for attendees to promote international friendship and understanding by joining together to celebrate black women's history and achievements across diverse black and minority ethnic cultures Tickets are priced at £35 per person and are available from the National Black Women's Network. Please note that places are limited for the event and we want to ensure all those who would like to attend can do so.
