Gwen Rhys : Network Catalyst The Women in the Livery Lunch 2003

The City has a reputation for being a somewhat hostile environment for the women working in it, yet many are facing up to and overcoming its challenges with great success. The Square Mile wouldn't be one of the world's major financial centres without embracing the latest technological advances yet it would not have the same feel without its ancient traditions, in particular the Livery Companies.
The main purpose of this unique Lunch, which is to be known as The Women in the Livery Lunch, 2003 (we want to make this an annual signature event) is to bring together like-minded women particularly those who have City connections, either by being a member of a Livery Company or working for companies and organisations based in the City. The invitation is being extended to women entrepreneurs and those working in businesses throughout the UK. Some of the City's most prominent women will be invited to be our guests, to learn more about the City Livery companies, partake in some Livery traditions and to share a vision for a future of the City that very much includes women. Our keynote speaker is Karen Silk, Chief Executive of Capital International HR Solutions whose company has recently received much positive publicity for the ground-breaking work it's undertaken in introducing family friendly policies which as well as improving overall morale have had a direct and positive result on the company's bottom line.
