Isis International-Manila is an international women's media information and communication (infocom) service organisation based in Quezon City, Philippines. It is committed to strengthening the women's movement, through building the capacities of women activists doing information and communications work for social transformation. We are in search of applicants who share this commitment, to join our dynamic and motivated team for the following position:
Infocom Capacity-Building Consultant
(Initial one year contract)
Main Responsibilities:
- Piloting an Infocom Training Programme for women activists: this includes co-ordinating and developing modules for media (radio, print, etc.), resource centre management, electronic networking, desktop publishing, website development; network development (re: coalitions and advocacy);
- Taking the lead in organising training courses in infocom and exploring collaborative capacity-building training with other networks or organisations; and
- Developing and implementing the Isis Internship Programme.
Minimum Requirements:
- Awareness and understanding of feminist concerns, with 3-5 years of working experience with non-government organisations (NGOs) and/or social movements or related organisations;
- At least a Bachelor's degree in Communication Arts, Information Technology or related courses
- Proficient, creative, and resourceful in designing, planning, organising and implementing training courses for infocom and media, and for resource centre services; as such, must have a solid background in participatory training methodologies;
- Computer literacy, including knowledge of use of the internet, e-Mail, and having website management skills,
- Excellent networking and electronic communication skills that shall be applied in e-mail lists and online conferences; strong verbal and writing skills in English;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Self-managed, a team player, with a high degree of initiative and commitment
- Willing to relocate to the Philippines for at least one year
- Willing to travel locally and internationally, and with a valid passport
