Vacancy in July 2002 Young Women's Unit Manager Up to £34,000 pa Corve Lane is a six-bedded unit that cares for young women aged 13 to 18 years who have a range of self-harming and risk taking behaviours. So, responsible for a team of 26, you'll ensure that the unit functions effectively and promotes the best interests of its residents. You'll achieve this by leading by example and offering motivational and inspirational support. You will also be asked to make a major contribution to a programme designed to re-provide residential care in Thurrock. This will include relocating the current unit. Thus you will need to maintain stability in the short term while looking to the future. As part of the Children and Families Management Team, you will contribute to strategic development and influence practice across the Division. You will need a CQSW, DipSW, CSS or equivalent qualification, together with substantial residential home experience ideally working with children and/or women. Three of these years will have been in a managerial or supervisory role. Working hours will generally be Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
