Foundation to Freelance in Braodcasting

Are you an unemployed woman living the following boroughs:

Camden, Tower Hamlets or Hackney?

Are you interested in being trained for a career in the media?
If the answer is yes to both of these questions WAVES wants to hear from you

Waves is offering free training for women living in the above wards to either become freelance or set up their own media company.

Trainess will receive part time structured training and be attached as crews to produce work on Waves " A Year in the Life ".

Training is available in the following crew roles:

  • Camera / lighting
  • Sound
  • Editing
  • Production Manager
  • Runners / Researchers / Writer (voice over)

"A Year in the Life" will chronicle the diverse lives of artistic and creative women in Britain throughout the year 2000

The project runs from October 1999 to December 2000 requiring firm commitment for 2 / 3 days a week over 4 ten week terms.

The training is open to complete beginners with an interest in the media or those who have beginner level experience. Your benefit will not be affected.
