Eaves for Lilith

Counselling And Therapeutic Interventions For Working With Women Overcoming Experiences Of Violence: A Multicultural Approach

A Partnership between Women and Girls Network and The Lilith Project

The training programme is composed of fifteen sessions 2 days per week over a 3 month period and comprises a combination of lectures, exercises and role-plays.

The programme offers a pragmatic and comprehensive approach to working with the myriad of complex issues when working with survivors of all forms of violence.

This course explores world healing models and offers a holistic approach to working with survivors. The tutors use world healing models and various aids to enhance the counselling experience. The promotion of standards of good practice and effective strategies are integrated throughout the programme

  • Framed within a feminist conceptualisation of violence
  • Multicultural ideals challenge and deconstruct oppressive practices
  • Promotes anti discriminatory practice

This course is aimed at women doing direct work within the violence against women field, such as counsellors, key-workers and support service workers. Previous counselling knowledge is desirable.

The Women and Girl's Network Counselling Training Programme is accredited by the London Open College Network giving women who successfully complete the course 5 credits at level 3.
