This course will expand on previous knowledge about domestic violence and will focus particularly on the experience of teenagers. Related issues such as teenage pregnancy, specific issues faced by boys, barriers to accessing services will be covered.

The course will explain how to ask about violence in their own intimate relationships, how to give advice and how to risk assess and safety plan. There will be networking opportunities to discuss your own practice and meet other professionals working in similar fields.

To expand on delegates existing knowledge of and experience in domestic violence

To understand the ways teenagers can be affected by domestic violence

To make links between domestic violence and other key issues for teenagers

To learn how to challenge myths and stereotypes

To learn how to undertake safety planning and risk assessment with teenagers

To learn about good practice examples and projects in London

Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for staff with existing knowledge about domestic violence who want to attend specialised training on the issues faced by adolescents.
