Basic Domestic Violence Awareness Training for Drugs and Alcohol Workers - 8 March 2007
Participants will explore the behaviours which constitute domestic violence and the ways in which substances are used by both survivor and perpetrator. The complexities leaving violent relationships will also be covered alongside legal and child protection issues. Participants will also learn practical examples of safety planning, accessing domestic violence services and ideas for more integrated partnership working.
Basic Drugs and Alcohol Awareness Training for Domestic Violence Workers - 21 March 2007
This course will explore attitudes, beliefs and myths around drugs and alcohol use along with the different types of substances and how they can be used and misused within a domestic violence context. The legal and health issues around drugs and working with clients who use drugs will also be covered as well as appropriate methods to ask about substance use and the consequences and next steps after disclosure.
