GLDVP Stella Project : Basic Drugs and Alcohol Awareness for Domestic Violence Workers - 19 June 2007 - Only a few places left

  • Would you like to know more about how substances may be used by victims and perpetrators of domestic violence?
  • Do you wish you knew more about different drugs (both legal and illegal) and the different types of treatment available?
  • Would you like to learn techniques to ask about drug/alcohol use within assessments?
  • Would you like to know a bit more about the legalities of drug use?
  • If so, then this course is right for you!
  • This course will explore attitudes, beliefs and myths around drugs and alcohol use along with the different types of substances and how they can be used and misused within a domestic violence context. The legal and health issues around drugs and working with clients who use drugs will also be covered as well as appropriate methods to ask about substance use and the consequences and next steps after disclosure.
