Hillcroft College : Next Steps - Studying Language & Literature - English GCSE
- 8 weekends and 2 study weeks between September and May
- Starts 22-24 September
This course is designed to enable you to develop a deeper understanding of the skills involved in both reading and writing within supportive surroundings. You will study some poetry and short stories and will also learn to write imaginatively and factually. The course will prepare you to take the English GCSE examination in June.
The GCSE assessment is based on oral and written coursework and two written external exams.
- Who is the course for?
Women who have never taken English GCSE before or who want to improve their grades, and for women who just want to improve their own reading and writing.
- What previous knowledge/skills required
You will need to have a minimum of Level 1 reading and writing skills. This will be explored through pre-course assessment and/or interview.
- Assessment and qualification:
English GCSE AQA
- Intended Learning
You should achieve your English GCSE at either Level 1 or 2
