Hillcroft College : Skills for Further & Higher Study - Return To Learn
1 week : 4-8 December
- Description
This course focuses on researching an area of study that you would like to pursue in the future. You will learn to collaborate with others to explore issues and solve problems; understand different learning styles and teaching methods; use a variety of reading strategies; how to take good notes; research a proposed course of academic or vocational study.
- Who is the course for?
Women who are planning to take a course to prepare them to apply for further study at university, on an Access programme, or on a specialist or vocational course.
- What previous knowledge/skills required
No formal qualifications however you will need the ability to write in clear, coherent sentences, with a reasonable control of spelling, punctuation and grammar – evidence of at least Level 1 literacy skills and the ability to read a fairly complex text with understanding.
- Assessment and qualification:
OCNLR Certificate at Levels 2 & 3.
- Intended Learning
An improvement in academic study skills, understanding of topics studied and increased confidence about progressing to further or higher education.
