Hillcroft College : Wonderfully Different - Women with Dyslexia

2 linked weekends: 5-7 Jan 2007 & 2-4 Feb 2007

If you have experienced difficulties with reading, writing or organisation in your life this course may be for you. Dyslexia is a difference in the ways a person manages to read, write and organise areas of life. Attempting to do these things when they have dyslexia may put a person under a lot of pressure. This course gives you a chance to explore life-experiences that may be associated with dyslexia.

During the first weekend you will examine the particular impact of dyslexia on you and share experiences with others in the group. You will think about various strategies to make the most of your skills and abilities. In the second weekend you will have an opportunity to put various strategies into practice. You may also look at emotional aspects of dyslexia.

  • Who is the course for? Women who have or think they may have dyslexia.
  • What previous knowledge/skills required? Open entry
  • Assessment and qualification: Informal assessment and internal College Certificate
