Hillcroft College : Job Ready

6 x weekend modules: 19-21 January 2007 & 9-11 February 2007 & 9-11 March 2007 & 30 March–1 April 2007 & 4-6 May 2007 & 8-10 June 2007

This course will enable you to plan a personal career path based on your current skills and your job aspirations. You will gain confidence, learn how to manage money, network, set goals, discover what employers really want, take a fresh look at applying for jobs, write a CV and practice interview skills in front of a video camera. You will have a personal mentor to help you to keep on track on the course and in your job search.

  • Who is the course for? Women seeking to enter or return to the workplace after a break.
  • What previous knowledge/skills required? Literacy and Numeracy at or above entry level 2 are desirable. Some experience of using IT is important. You will be asked to attend a Skills for Work assessment weekend or an interview.
  • Assessment and qualification: OCNLR Certificate at Level 1 or 2
  • Intended Learning: a personal career strategy; a list of your unique strengths; a powerful new CV; an application form template effective interview techniques
