Women’s Design Service has been based in Islington for 20 years and has an excellent record in influencing design for the benefit of women.
WDS has developed a programme called Making Safer Places (MSP), which trains groups of women to carry out safety audits of their neighbourhoods.
Through observation, recording and analysing your photographs and data, you decide what physical improvements would reduce criminal activity and perceptions of danger.
We are recruiting for a new MSP project on an estate in Islington, where there is funding available to implement the recommendations.
Come and join us!
It will involve about four days of your time and we will make every effort to create a timetable that best suits you. We may also be able to offer a certificate of accreditation from the Open College Network. MSP focuses on confidence-building, skills development and hands-on participation.
