Women Into Non-Traditional Occupations : Free Open Day, Construction Taster, Door Security Course

WINTO has some exciting events and courses coming up in June, please see details below of our construction taster day, open day and security course.


Free Construction Taster Day

  • 13th June from 10am - 1pm
  • Alpha Building Services and Engineering Training
  • If you are female and thinking about working in construction now is your chance to try out some trades and discover your skills.

    • Try your hand at:
      1. Carpentry
      2. Painting and Decorating
      3. Plumbing
      4. Electrical Installation
    • Meet the tutors at Alpha Training
    • Hear from other women who work in construction

    Open Day - Women Into Non-Traditional Occupations

  • 19th June from 10am - 1pm

    BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Door Supervisors

  • Ongoing throughout June/July -Free Security Course
  • If you are female and looking to work in the Security Industry, we can offer you FREE training to gain this qualification in just 4 days. The course is worth £200, and includes:

    • Admission policies - Seizing articles
    • Use of force - How to deal with emergencies
    • Scene preservation - Report writing
    • Risk assessment - Self-awareness
    • Resolving conflict - Learning from conflict

    To become a Door Supervisor you must meet 3 requirements:

    1. Pass an identity check
    2. Pass a criminal records check
    3. Possess a recognised door supervision qualification
