Courses and Training Women's Library : Schools Programme - The Prostitution Debate Sessions available until March 2007 Marking the centenary of the death of Josephine Butler, Victorian social campaigner and champion of the rights of prostituted women, our current exhibition Prostitution: What's Going On? seeks to explore the questions Butler raised about prostitution, sexual exploitation and trafficking in contemporary contexts. We believe that the exhibition represents a very special opportunity for young people to engage intellectually with a challenging and important contemporary social issue. We are therefore inviting AS and A2 level students to visit the exhibition and debate some of the contentious questions it raises for individuals and society. We are offering a 2-hour workshop consisting of a guided visit to the exhibition and a facilitated debate, with supporting resource pack and additional provision for teachers. The workshop is free and there is a small charge for the pack. Further information about the schools programme is available to download as a PDF file. For more information, and to book, please contact the Learning Co-ordinator, Joanna Ingham, on 020 7320 3504.
