This course is suitable for generic and LGB front line workers who work with lesbian, gay and bisexual clients who may be experiencing domestic violence and want to improve their ability to provide effective support. Handout/information packs will be provided on the day. This course will cover the following areas:

Barriers LGB clients experiencing domestic violence may face in relation to accessing help and support

Legal rights and options developments created by The Civil Partnership Act 2004 and The Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004

Generic and specialist support services (local and National) Agency good practice in relation to LGB clients experiencing domestic violence
