Alternative Arts PHOTOMONTH PHOTO-OPEN

PHOTOMONTH 08 east london photography festival presents the photo-open photography show offering emerging photographers the opportunity to show and sell their work to the public, press, publishers, curators and collectors.

Photographers from all over the world have contributed towards this event. All images will be screened and a selection printed and hung in the gallery. Global submissions on the theme of ‘Freedom’ from 500 photographers have been sponsored by Flickr and prints selected from the UK submissions are sponsored by theprintspace. UK photographers will be invigilating the show and exhibiting their portfolios.

Shoot Experience will be exhibiting a collection of images from the Shoot Spitalfields event, and Heather McDonough and Rod Morris will be projecting portraits taken during the Street Portrait Studio project in local East End markets which may be viewed in the gallery windows day and night.

THE PHOTOMONTH SEMINAR Photography Now! takes place on Thursday 6 November 7pm – 9pm. Six photographers currently exhibiting in photomonth 08 will be specially invited to talk about their work and discuss issues challenging photography today with a panel of directors, curators and editors.
