Enfield Women's Centre : Sunday Walks for Women
An opportunity to meet new people, whilst wandering through beautiful parks and countryside
These social walks, for women & their families (includes male family members, children & dogs on leads!), generally last about 2 hours & cover mixed terrain.
Suggested donation for walks is £1.00 per adult and children free.
We offer minibus transport to more remote parks at £2.00 per adult & £1.00 per child. Please call the Centre (in office hours see below) to book minibus.
Epping Forest Fun Day
Sunday 3rd June at 12.00 noon - Picnic and play
Meet at car park opposite Royal Forest Hotel, Rangers Road.
Bring a picnic, bats and balls, Frisbees, etc.
There will be a walk in this ancient forest followed by a picnic with games and chat.
Please dress appropriately for the weather.
Buses 313 and 444 stop at Chingford Station and the car park is five minutes walk on the same side as the station.
Minibus transport available - £2.00 per adult & £1.00 per child.
Greenwich Riverboat Trip
Sunday 1st July - A fun day for all the family
Join us on a boat trip to Greenwich with stunning views of London’s riverside and then spend time at Greenwich Park, or visit the National Maritime Museum, Queen’s House or the Royal Observatory (Admission is currently free).
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Maritime Museum which was opened by King George VI.
Bring a packed lunch.

River boat costs are for return boat trips – Adults £9.40, Seniors (60+) £8.00 and Children £4.70

Walton on the Naze
Sunday 5th August
A traditional English resort with sandy beaches, safe bathing and the UK’s second longest pier.
Close to rare bird life and fossil finds. Walton is a well known site for collecting fossils or buy from the man with a caravan near the café at the Naze, who sells them. He also helps identify your own finds.
You can also book a 2 hour boat trip to see seals, etc. (book in advance 01255 671 852)
Cost: Waged £15.00, Concessions £11.00, Children £5.00
Guided tour of Capel Manor
Tuesday 19th June at 1.45 p.m. for a 2.00 p.m. start
An opportunity to spend an afternoon wandering through the thirty acres of richly planted themed gardens with one of Capel’s knowledgeable guides.
Capel also has a collection of working horses and other animals as well as a maze and lake.
Cost including the tour guide; Adults £6.50; Concessions £5.50 and Children £3.50.
Places must be booked by Friday 8th June
Knebworth
22nd August 2007
One of England’s beloved stately homes, Knebworth House is famous as the home of Victorian novelist Edward Bulwer Lytton – (author of the words “The pen is mightier than the sword”) and Lady Constance Lytton, suffragette. This beautiful gothic mansion has been the location for many films and TV plays.
It is surrounded by 250 acres of beautiful parkland with wild deer herds as well as 25 acres of formal gardens.
For the younger members of the group there is also a wonderful dinosaur trail, adventure playground (in the shape of a fort with three fabulous tube slides) and a miniature railway! There is also a gift shop and café.
Cost for the day (coach and entrance to park, fort, gardens and dinosaur trail is; Adults £15.00, Concessions £13.00 and children £6.00 (children under 4 free) – for a guided tour of the house it is an additional £2.00 per adult, seniors and children £1.50
