Wednesday 18th February 11 a.m. - 1.00 p.m.
Ponders End United Reform Church Hall, College Court, EN3 4EY
This is an opportunity to explore the personal story of a remarkable woman, Marianne North, who was a Victorian traveller and botanical artist, creator of a unique gallery at Kew Gardens. Marianne travelled the world, painting and searching for tropical plants. You will be able to handle unique Victorian items, read Marianne s diary, sample exotic fruits and spices, try botanical painting and learn about life and travel in the 19th century.
This workshop is possible due to the restoration of the Marianne North Gallery at Kew Gardens. The curators are keen to provide people with the experience of meeting this extraordinary and determined woman and her life s work.
Tea and coffee will be served 10.30 - 11 a.m. Please arrive for a prompt start.
The organisers have limited the number of women to 15 so please get your booking form back to us quickly. Places will be strictly allocated on a first come first serve basis.
