Women work two-thirds of the world's working hours, produce half of the world's food, and yet earn only 10% of the world's income and own less than 1% of the world's property.

What can we in the UK do about this?

And what parallels are there between the lives of women living in poverty abroad and the lives of women here?

Fawcett is joining up with Action Aid to explore this at the Compass National & Robin Cook Memorial Conference 2007 in Central London on Saturday 9 June. Our session is open to all those with tickets to the conference, which brings together a variety of organisations debating a whole range of issues.
