Fawcett : Equal Power : 2028 - Campaign launch
Tuesday 3 July - Westminster
2028 will mark 100 years since the Equal Franchise Act, which gave women the vote on equal terms to men. Yet today women are still missing from positions of power. Our new campaign Equal Power: 2028 will set out our demands for the next 21 years so that equality can finally come of age.
Our free event is your chance to set the agenda for women. Join us for an evening of networking, discussion and skills-sharing. You can be part of our campaign right from the start, by:
- entering our ballot on what matters most for women today
- putting your questions to a senior government figure
- getting up to date on today's key equality issues
- finding out how to lobby your MP
- learning how you can use the internet to raise awareness and drive change
The evening will start in Westminster Abbey with a commemoration of our founder, Millicent Fawcett, who devoted her life's work to winning the vote for women. Help us continue the work she started, and ensure that an equal vote really means equal power.
6pm in Westminster Abbey, followed by a reception, with a free glass of wine or soft drink, from 6.30pm at Mary Sumner House, 24 Tufton Street, London SW1P 3RB.
This is a free event, but please email or call 020 7253 2598 to register. Visit our website for more information.
