Being Ourselves
"It is not just about having equal access to services, it's about being able to be ourselves when we use them". That is what older lesbians have told Polari.
The needs of older lesbians, gay men and bisexuals will be explored in a season of three free half-day seminars being organised by Polari.
The seminars will be held in venues in central, east and south London on 1st November, 30th November and 19th January, and will each focus on one service area: housing, hospitals and support for independence and care.
"These seminars" said Lindsay River, Project Co-ordinator of Polari in Partnership, "will bring together key players to further a new awareness of older lesbians, gay men and bisexuals - as an important cultural minority amongst older service users - and to explore innovative responses to our needs."
