Training Link : Separation And Reunion Forum (SRF) Eighth Annual Conference

Theme: Young people in Crisis: The need for secure relationships in the family and in the society.

The recent fatal attacks by young people on peers and adults have signalled a major concern for the communities in which they occur and the society at large. There is need for discussion and exploration of some of the factors contributing to this criminal behaviour. This year's conference provides a forum for this theme to be creatively explored and to suggest some strategies for promoting change in attitudes and behaviour.

Chairperson: Lennox Thomas, Separation and Reunion Forum.

Keynote Speakers:

• Paul Olaitan: Operations Manager for Prevention Services, Hackney Youth Offending Team.
• Jason Gordon: Founder of organisation, Community Intervention Transforming Youth. (CITY) Trinidad, West Indies
• Rachel Wingfield: Chair, Centre for Attachment-based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. (CAPP)

Other speakers include:

• Elaine Arnold, Cathy Aymer, Aggrey Burke, Beverley Goring. Rosemarie Mallet

The morning session will allow main speakers to present messages from their research and work with young people and anti- social behaviour. The afternoon session will consist of workshops led by inter-disciplinary facilitators, in order to provide the opportunity to explore some of the themes emerging from the presentations, and to suggest strategies for change. Young people will be involved in the discussions.

Conference Fee:

• £60.00
• £35 Students (copy of student card required), Senior Citizens and Unwaged.
• Young people are encouraged to attend and share their experiences - a reduced cost would be available.

Refreshments & lunch provided (please state if vegetarian/vegan).

The Conference is organised in collaboration with The London Metropolitan University and Training Link.
