You are invited to 'Culture Kitchen'
Celebrating cultural diversity through food growing and feasting
Saturday 24 September 2005 from 11am to 5pm
Capel Manor Horticultural College, Bullsmoor Lane, Enfield, London
Come and share home-grown food, recipes, ideas and art with other local growers. Visit Capel Manor's gardens and bring the family.
- Contribute harvest from your plot.
- Cook with the Madras Cafe chefs who will spice and simmer the produce.
- Create art stories and be a 'fruity beauty'
- Culture share - using plants for health and talking plant culture
- Compete - be a prize winner with a container of herbs, display of seasonal fruit and veg, sweet preserve, savoury preserve, unusual looking fruit or veg or most unusual plant container.
- Circulate in a marketplace for ideas and action with exhibitions from community food growers.
- Compost at the close of day
- Cost (including meal): waged £5, unwaged £2, group discounts available.
- Children free.
- Advanced booking is advised and gives free acess to Capel Manor's demonstration gardens - which includes an organic plot
For this event, WEN is joining with the Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens for their 'City Harvest' event which brings London's city farms to Capel Manor. There'll be a host of children's activities.
