The National Federation of Women's Institutes (NFWI) and Women's Environmental Network (WEN) would like to invite you to the launch of their Women's Manifesto on Climate Change at Westminster on Tuesday afternoon, 15 May 2007, from 3:30 till 5pm in the Attlee Suite, Portcullis House, London SW1A 0AA.
Please download the attached invitation. (163Kb pdf)
We believe that this event will be of interest to UK government ministers, politicians, policy makers and opinion formers who need to understand the importance of climate change to women as voters, mothers, and active and engaged citizens.
This manifesto presents women's priorities for UK government action on climate change, based on a survey of WEN and NFWI members and other intereseted women, plus other research by the two organisations.
It also demonstrates the importance of women as consumers, educators and leaders in tackling climate change, and identifies where improvements are most needed if women are to become an effective part of the solution.
Speakers are expected to include Sandra Gidley MP, BBC presenter Penney Poyzer, and Fay Mansell, Chair of the NFWI, plus endorsements from women environmentalists, scientists, and other women's organisations.

We look forward to seeing you at this landmark event.
