Women in Black : Vigil to mark Global Week of Action against Gun Violence

Women in Black London and the Women's Network of IANSA will be holding a one-hour vigil from 6-7 pm on Wednesday June 13 as part of the Global Week of Action against Gun Violence.

Please join us.

The vigil will be at the Edith Cavell statue, opposite the door of the National Portrait Gallery, St.Martin's Place, London WC2. It will be silent, women-only, and (if possible) dressed in black.

The message will stress that violence against women, already so widespread, is made more deadly when guns are available.

Our demands:

• curb proliferation of small arms worldwide;
• close loopholes in UK gun law;
• shut down London's arms trade "fair" 11-14 Sept 2007.
