Women in Publishing : Little by little . . . the life and times of a literary agent

March Monthly Meeting

  • Date: 14th March 2007
  • Time: 6.30 for 7 pm
  • Venue: 3rd floor meeting room (off Music dept), Foyles, 113-119 Charing Cross Road, London WC2
  • Nearest tube: Tottenham Court Road

Where do editors find the books they publish? Very often, because a literary agent has brought them to their attention and presented the book with enthusiasm, energy and determination. But it has to be the right book for the right editor at the right publishing house at the right time, too.

Mandy Little, of agency Watson Little, will be talking about the literary agentıs role in publishing at our March meeting. Sheıll be speaking about the challenges of the job, the way it has changed in recent years - particularly with the rise and rise of the internet - and the highs and lows of her agenting career.
