Forthcoming Event
WRC : Third Sector Review: A Stronger Voice For Women's Organisation
A national event for women's organisations.
- Date: Tuesday 3 October (10.30-4.30)
- Venue: University of London Union (WC1)
- Cost: FREE to attend but you must book your place (limited space)
- Chair: Isadora Aiken OBE, Manager of South Yorkshire Women's Development Trust.
- Speakers include: Pat Samuel, Head of the Treasury's Voluntary Sector Team (in charge of the Review).
The government is doing a review about the role of voluntary organisations and how government should work with them. This review is really important because it feeds into the Treasury's 'Comprehensive Spending Review' which will set priorities and targets for how the government should spend its money for the next 10 years. The review covers a wide range of issues, including getting long-term contracts, 'full cost recovery'/core costs, delivering public services, campaigning etc.
Women's Resource Centre, in partnership with other women's umbrella organisations from across England, is holding a consultation event for women's groups on Tuesday 3 October. The event will bring together women's organisations from across the country to learn about the government's plans, discuss what we need as women's organisations, and put our views across to the government in the afternoon.
For further information, contact Leah at WRC on 020 7324 3040 or info@wrc.org.uk. For more information on the review go to: http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/ctsfu.
