44 Portland Place (YWCA Central Club) : Join the Women’s Small Business Community

Join the Women’s Small Business Community at 44 Portland Place to learn, share and grow your business

  • Would you like to know how best to market your business?
  • Would you like to know how technology can transform your business?
  • Would you like to have a resource that can offer advice, support and guidance in a friendly and convenient location?
  • Would you like to network and meet a pool of potential clients?
  • We are setting up the Women’s Small Business Community at 44 Portland Place as a networking group created to inspire enterprising women and to build alliances in a fun interactive environment. There will be opportunities to learn, share and let off steam.

Our aim is to offer a place for women who have business ideas or who run businesses to network, discuss solutions to business issues and support one another by pooling ideas, knowledge, expertise and experience. Guest speakers will offer information, advice and guidance about the business topics that you want to hear about.

  • The club will be run by its members for its members!
  • Come along and meet us!
  • First meeting will be held on Thursday, 3rd April at 6.30 pm
  • What do we do?

So we know who everyone is and why they're there, we will kick off each meeting by letting everyone have a two minute slot to introduce themselves and their products or services.

    Then, we will either have

  • a speaker to talk for an hour or so about topics as varied as advertising, personnel management, tax, computer technology, the Internet, personal and company image, etc., or
  • a workshop on topics of particular interest or concern to club members.
  • Every fourth meeting will be reserved for a social event - such as a quiz night, darts, bowling or whatever takes your fancy.

The Club will also produce an email newsletter – and a web-based business register of club members.

    Why you should join us

  • Make friends and become known in the local business community
  • Benefit from the help and support of other like-minded women
  • Enjoy a varied programme of events, including monthly meetings and social functions
  • Make use of the publicity initiatives organised for Club members
  • Other Benefits

  • Promote your business in our monthly Newsletter and in our Membership Directory – free to all members
  • Practical help and advice is available from informed fellow members and entertaining speakers
  • Organise your own seminars for fellow members. Make the most of networking opportunities amongst Club members
  • By joining together we can increase our purchasing power and enjoy bigger discounts from suppliers
  • If you would like to find out more about joining the Club fill in our contact form or email Elaine Smith on ms.elainesmith@btinternet.com
