Latin American Women's Rights Service

LAWRS services aim to support and enable women to overcome inequalities. We strive to offer a seamless one-stop free and confidential holistic service in which our users are supported to address their resettlement, welfare and legal advice needs, but also to widen opportunities to enable them to break away from poverty and exclusion and to lead independent and autonomous lives. We provide:
  • A money & debt and housing advice and casework service.
  • An outreach advice service for frail and disabled elderly women.
  • A dedicated domestic violence support service.
  • A Health Advocacy Project to assist women at primary healthcare settings in Camden and Islington.
  • A support service for women wishing to start their own business.
  • A counselling service to help women overcome traumatic situations.
  • A project to improve housing conditions for Latin American elderly people and to develop viable housing solutions for them.
  • ESOL, community interpreting courses, and educational workshops.
  • A volunteering project to introduce Latin American women to the world of work in this country.
  • Regular seminars and workshops on issues of concern to Latin American women and to raise awareness of their rights and entitlements.
We also have a childcare service that looks after service users' children whilst they are attended at LAWRS. Those who require those services should call the office for an appointment
