Association of Radical Midwives

Purpose:
ARM offers information and help to those having difficulty in getting or giving sympathetic, individualised NHS maternity care.
Activities:
  • Over 50 local contacts around UK, many with local groups holding regular meetings.
  • ARM publishes 2 free information leaflets
    • What is a Midwife
    • Choices in Childbirth
    available from the ARM stand. Supplies for local distribution are available from ARM for the cost of postage and packing.
  • There is a quarterly journal, Midwifery Matters, and there are National Meetings in different areas of the country every quarter.
  • We have a Festival Yurt which goes to different festivals and provides a resource for pregnant women and new mums.
  • We have 2 e-groups, ukmidwifery (an open discussion group for women and midwives) and midwiferyuk (a closed list for midwives only)

    Annual membership £30 (students and unwaged £12.50).
