Somerset Rural Women’s Network

Purpose:
  • We aim to help all rural women in Somerset to live life to the full, providing support and advice services for all what ever their aim in life
  • .
  • The RWN enables all women to feel that there is advice and support available whenever they need a point of reference for information on any subject that might concern them in their daily lives. Such topics may include dealing with stress, debts, transport issues, networking, running, developing and sustaining a business, isolation, the cascading of information amongst remote communities, using technology or discussing the broader issues facing women in rural communities today.
  • Activities:
  • Regular Steering Group meetings and a quarterly Network meeting.
  • Operating a website – http://www.rwn-somerset.org.uk – offering a signposting and information service with the possibility for people to contact Debbie, the Project Worker.
  • Attending networking events, giving presentations and talks to groups across the county.
  • Links with the Rural Community Council for Somerset, making regular contributions to their quarterly publication "Thatch".
