  • To join the Women’s Network group you need to be a member of a voluntary, community or faith group, involved in delivering a service within the Borough of Oldham and be a woman.

  • 2. What is the role of the Womens Network?
  • The aim of the Women’s Network is to strengthen women’s position in theCommunity, support the development of women’s groups, tackle inequalities and widen opportunities for women. The network will seek to:-
    • Support the development of women’s groups and women’s organisations and encourage women’s collective action to bring about change.
    • Support women’s participation in decision making at all levels – in the community, in Oldham and at national level.
  • Raise awareness of issues relating to women’s inequality and promote women’s equality.
  • Recognise the diversity of women’s needs and support women’s communities of interest.
  • Provide women with skills that will enhance women’s community development.

  • 3. Having a voice in the community:
  • The network will feed in their views into the Oldham Partnership and the decision making mechanisms through the Voluntary, Community & Faith Partnership.
