Birds Eye View : Submit your work to the birds eye view film festival 2009

Birds Eye View celebrates international women filmmakers.

We launched the UK's first major women's film festival at London’s NFT (BFI Southbank) and the ICA in 2005. This is now a high profile annual event, showing some outstanding work from leading and emerging women directors, backed by our patrons including Mira Nair, Juliet Stevenson, Mike Figgis and Joanna Lumley.

We are looking for shorts, documentaries, feature films and new media & interactive art for our 2009 festival.

Don’t miss the chance to be part of it.

To find out how to submit your work, please visit http://www.birds-eye-view.co.uk or email submissions@birds-eye-view.co.uk

  • Deadline for UK submissions - Saturday November 1st 2008
  • Deadline for International submissions - Monday November 10th 2008

The Birds Eye View Film Festival 2009 will open on March 5th with 10 days of feature, documentary and short films made by women around the globe, plus special events, panels and parties. All events will be held at leading London film venues. Key events will involve celebrity presenters and guest speakers.

2008 saw the 4th Birds Eye View Film Festival - our biggest yet, with 10,000 visitors coming to 80 events across 8 days at the BFI Southbank, Institute of Contemporary Arts, Curzon Soho and other London venues. Screenings were accompanied by inspiring Q&A's, masterclasses, special cross-arts events, parties, a whole new innovation strand, a retrospective of silent film with special live music commissions and a programme of workshops and masterclasses for emerging talent.

We are seeking submissions from women filmmakers from around the globe, to be a part of a showcase programme of innovative and inspirational shorts, features and documentaries.

Awards will be presented to Best Short Drama, Best Short Animation, Best Documentary and a special Award for Innovation.
