The Government consultation on the proposals for a Commission for Equality and Human Rights has just closed. Fawcett's response is

The Fawcett Society is seeking a volunteer with significant financial management expertise, to make a key contribution to the strategic

*Fawcett Commemoration*
Fawcett's annual commemoration of the life of Millicent Fawcett and the campaign for the vote took place at Westminster Abbey on 2nd July, the anniversary of the passing of the Equal Franchise Act. Antonia Byatt, director of the Women's Library, spoke about Millicent Fawcett's achievements, and the continuation of her legacy by the Fawcett Society and the Women's Library.
*Consultation on children and parental separation*
The Government has published a Green Paper on proposals for meeting children's needs after parental separation, which closes on 1 November. This comes in the context of increasing discussion of mothers' and fathers' caring responsibilities and rights of access. Fawcett is interested to hear your views on this important issue. The Government is undertaking a review of laws and policy around prostitution, and has produced a consultation document, 'Paying the Price'. The deadline for responses is 26 November.
