"This report vividly demonstrates an appalling picture of patchy services for women victims of violence. Huge areas of the country have no services at all, leaving women with nowhere to turn at a time when they may desperately need support.
"It is a disgrace that the services available to victims of rape and other forms of violence against women are determined by their postcode. A third of local authorities in the UK have no specialised support services for victims and most women don't have access to a Rape Crisis Centre. We need to see real investment in women-specific services for victims of violence, to close the gaps highlighted by this report.
"The current situation is failing the 3 million women in the UK who experience violence every year. The Government and local authorities must provide more funding to secure the future of vital services , and to make sure that women have access to the support they need, when they need it most."
