GLDVP : 'adopts' LGBT Domestic Abuse Forum
GLDVP is pleased to announce that from October 2007 it will be hosting the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) Domestic Abuse Forum by providing an internet and email presence to support the Forum's work. While domestic abuse as it affects the LGBT communities is increasingly recognised, both by the communities themselves and service providers, our knowledge and experience remain limited.
To try and address this, the Forum is a network of practitioners, activists and researchers working around the issue of LGBT domestic abuse. It exists to provide a forum in which to meet, network and exchange good practice. While the Forum aims to function as a problem-solving and enabling resource for its members, it is not a service provider. For information on services for LGBT people experiencing domestic abuse in the UK, follow the link below.
While the GLDVP is not accountable for the Forum, the goals of both are served well together, as each work strengthen the sector by identifying common goals and ensuring that good practice in domestic violence work is transferred.
