Women's Health : Group closes after 24 years

To all friends of Women's Health - 7th March 2006

Dear Friend

The Management Committee at Women's Health need to make you aware of the dire financial situation Women's Health finds itself in and the consequences.

We have been struggling for the past 2 years to increase our funding and unfortunately have been unable to secure the monies required to continue providing services.

It is my unfortunate duty as Chair to inform you that Women's Health has been forced to make the difficult decision to close. We are very saddened to report all staff have been made redundant, and the helpline and associated services will cease on 10th March 2006.

The Management Committee has been exploring opportunities to merge with another organisation, and we are hopeful that some of the valuable work done by WH over the last 24 years will continue.

We hope that we will be able to keep the web site running in the short term, and will post any further information on that site. The administration line will remain open for the time being.

We will not be accepting any further applications for membership.

Please ensure you cancel any standing order or direct debit you may have with Women's Health.

WH would like to thank you for your continued and valuable support over the years.
