Launch of Talking Equality
The Gallery, 70 Cowcross Street, London EC1M 6EJ
Please tell Amelia Butt know if you would like to attend ameliab@futurefoundation.net
'Talking Equality' is a joint publication with the Equal Opportunities Commission, launched with the sponsorship of KPMG. In it we explore public attitudes towards equality taking as our starting point fascinating new research from the Future Foundation that suggests a dis-connect between the way in which Government, employers and social policy bodies approach equality, and the experience, outlook and language of the public.
The implications of 'Talking Equality' represent a challenge for all thoseinvolved in equality, including Government, employers and social policybodies. How should we re-connect equality strategies with those they seek tohelp? How can we recognise the complex nature of equality today? Whatlanguage should we be using to make audiences feel that equality debates arerelevant to them?
There will be short introductions to the work from the EOC, KPMG and the Future Foundation but perhaps more importantly the evening will provide an opportunity to informally discuss the issues with a wide range of people over a glass of wine.
