Listing and linking your information in the Calendars and Notice Board:
We welcome contributions from visitors and users of Women in London but please can we ask you to keep your postings on the calendars short. You can post a more detailed message to the public notice board and then link this to your entry in the calendar/s.
- First post your information to the notice board by clicking on the Post a New Message button
- Add - or paste in - your notice in the Your Message box
- Then add your name or the subject to the Your Name box
- Now click on the Submit Message box
- Your meesage should now be displayed on the Notice Board
- Make a note of your message number - listed on the left.
- Copy the web link of the Notice Board ie http://www.quicktopic.com/19/H/nV4WDtdd6iMqf
- Go to the London or Countrywide Calendar
- Click on the date you want to make an entry for
- Click on create new entry
- Paste into the second box the Notice Board web link with you meessage number (eg /m900) added onto the end - eg http://www.quicktopic.com/19/H/nV4WDtdd6iMqf/m900
- Add the title etc to the first box
- Click on Submit
There are other advantages of linking your information in this way as it is possible to subscribe to the Public Notice Board to get information sent as emails. This means that subscribers will be alerted to your postings to the notice board (and clendar).
To subscribe to the Women in London Notice Board click on the subscribe button on the top left of the notice board page or this link takes you straight there.
Also, for users of older, less graphically enabled computers, long postings to the calendar make it slow to display if not nearly implossible.
It is also for this reason we have started to archive previous months calendar listings to help speed up the calendar function.
