Sense of Self

Group Purpose:

‘A Sense of Self Worth’ is a weekly support group for women focusing on enhancing self-esteem and self-confidence.

Self-esteem is crucial to our well-being and linked to our sense of self (who we are) and self worth (how we feel about ourselves). Our perception of our self-worth affects us in so many ways ranging from our communication and interpersonal skills to the relationships we form and the way we value ourselves and our achievements.

Our lives are in constant flux and as we embark on our life journey some things will enhance our self-esteem/confidence and other life experiences will negatively affect our self-esteem. Therefore our self-esteem needs constant nurturing and care.

There will be structured exercises and the opportunity for individuals to bring their own issues into the group. Working from a person centered approach this will give individuals the opportunity to reflect in a supportive, nurturing and non-judgmental environment on themselves, their relationships and their self-esteem.

The group uses a combination of humanistic and person centered approaches, with a solution focused perspective. I do also use positive psychology, narrative therapy and CBT techniques. The aim of the group is to create a safe, harmonious, nurturing and inspiring environment. Therefore please email me and tell me why you would like to join.
