- Description:
- Ashiana provides refuge and outreach service to South Asian, Turkish and Iranian women aged 16-30 who are experiencing domestic violence. We also provide a range of training and awareness raising services. We are expanding our outreach service in East London, by launching an exciting innovative project focusing on counselling and support work with young people affected by domestic violence. The post holder will be responsible for establishing links with a number of schools and colleges, developing a service offering counselling, support and mentoring with young people aged 13-21. The service will be for young people who have witnessed or experienced domestic violence. Applicants must have:
- Qualification - BACP accredited or working towards accreditation
- Minimum of 2 years experience of working with young people
- An understanding of domestic violence and abuse
- An understanding of child protection issues
- An understanding of the specific needs of South Asian, Turkish and Iranian communities.
