- Description:
- Polari is a small, highly regarded lesbian and gay managed voluntary organisation which undertakes policy, strategy and development work, research, and training on issues related to the quality of life of older lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. We are pleased to announce that we will soon set up a new older lesbian gay and bisexual mental health project that has been funded by Bridge House Trust. This new post will support Phase 1 of the Project.
- Here is an opportunity to undertake ground-breaking research with an under-researched group: lesbian, gay and bisexual people aged 50+ who have mental health needs.
- Working 20 hours a week, the Mental Health Development Worker will recruit participants, set up interviews and focus groups, report on findings and scope potential partners amongst Mental Health Trusts in London.
- They will also write applications for funding for a 3 year participatory project (staff for which will be recruited later when funding is in place) with the aim of improving access to mental health services for LGB older people.
