- Description:
- The Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre are currently recruiting volunteers to help female survivors of rape and sexual abuse at their centre in Croydon.
- Volunteer helpline workers to work on our National Helpline supporting survivors of sexual violence. Many people abused as children, or raped as adults, need to talk about their experiences and to be listened to in a caring, non-judgemental way.
- Volunteer advocates to work with, inform and support survivors of sexual violence who are going through the criminal justice system.
Do you have good interpersonal skills or experience in a caring profession, and feel able to take calls from distressed people? If so we would like to hear from you. We will provide you with free accredited training from the London Open College Network, Tuesday evenings and four Saturdays. If you feel you have an open mind and can listen, are empathic and pragmatic and have the time and enthusiasm to make a commitment to working with us for at least one year please write, phone or email us to be forwarded an application pack with full position details.
