Refuge : 2 Refuge Workers - East Sussex and West London

Group:
Refuge is a growing national domestic violence charity offering emergency accommodation and emotional and practical support to women and children.
  • We are currently looking to recruit 2 committed FEMALE* staff members to join our team.
  • For both positions you will provide invaluable practical and emotional support.
  • Duties will include ensuring the smooth running of the refuge, admitting abused women, providing support on welfare and housing benefit entitlements, and supporting residents to obtain permanent accommodation.
  • For both posts you will be required to work as part of an on-call rota.
  • You must have a commitment to the values of empowerment, support and equality, which underpin all the work undertaken by Refuge.

  • Position 1:
    Peripatetic Refuge Worker - East Sussex (Ref: 71255)
    Salary:
    c. £21k pa - The post offers 28 days holiday and pension scheme
    Description:
  • You will deliver a high quality professional service to abused women living in our refuges based in the East Sussex area at Lewes, Eastbourne, Wealden and Hastings.
  • The post will be based at one of the locations but you will be required to work from any of the houses depending on the needs of the services.
  • Please note that the use of a car would be desirable given the nature of the work.

  • Position 2:
    Refuge Worker - West London (Ref: 71256)
    Salary:
    c. £24,000 pa inc ILW
    Description:
  • You will have excellent casework skills, good written and verbal communication skills, clear professional boundaries and be a proactive team player.
  • You must have a minimum of two years' experience of providing support to women and knowledge of current welfare rights/civil/criminal legislation relating to domestic violence.
  • A recognised social work/counselling /housing qualification would be desirable.
