Refuge : Refuge Worker - Lewes area

Group:
Refuge is the UK's largest provider of specialist accommodation and support to women and children escaping domestic violence. We are looking for a committed FEMALE* Refuge Worker to join our staff team.
Position:
Refuge Worker - Lewes area (Ref: 71284)
Salary:
c. £21k pa - The post offers 28 days holiday and pension scheme
Description:
  • You will provide a high quality professional service to abused women living in our refuges, providing invaluable practical and emotional support.
  • Duties include ensuring the smooth running of the refuge, admitting abused women, providing advice on welfare and housing benefit entitlements and supporting residents to obtain permanent accommodation.
  • You will have excellent casework skills, good written and verbal communication skills, clear professional boundaries and be a proactive team player.
  • You must have a minimum of 2 years experience of providing support to women and knowledge of current welfare rights/civil/criminal legislation relating to domestic violence.
  • A recognised social work/counselling/housing qualification would be desirable.
  • You must have a commitment to the values of empowerment, support and equality, which underpin all the work undertaken by Refuge.
